Beauty and Botox - Face Forward Tips for 2006!

Did you know that BOTOX injections are one of the most popular procedures in cosmetic surgery today? In fact, Botox injections far out number breast augmentation and rhinoplasty (cosmetic surgery on the nose), as the most preferred aesthetic surgical procedure?

As you may agree, in western culture attractiveness is closely wedded to youthfulness. The appearance of wrinkles on the face is a source of anxiety for millions of women and men.

The search for a miracle drug to help us appear younger presently fuels a multi-billion dollar beauty and cosmetic industry.

The related industries of weight loss and health are just as robust. There is stiff competition between beauty companies constantly trying to sell youth and beauty in a jar.

If you have the money you can opt for the more invasive (and ostensibly more effective) procedures to help you look younger. This where BOTOX followed by its more permanent cousin, plastic surgery may fit the bill.

A nutritious and balanced diet, accompanied by a rigorous exercise regimen can make your body look years younger. Unfortunately there's no such workout to tighten your face.

Your face starts reflecting the passage of time the soonest, and most visibly. Studies indicate wrinkles appear on our skin as early as the age of 27. If it is our face, which betrays our age the first, no wonder it the focus of so much anxiety. This is why we want age-defying intervention.

BOTOX, as of now, appears to be the answer to some people's prayers. Younger and firmer looks seem to be just a few small injections away.

BOTOX is actually short for Botulinum Toxin Type A. It is a highly toxic substance and one of its milder side effects is food poisoning.

It is actually a protein complex, which is produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. What is used in cosmetic surgery is an injectible form of this toxin.

This form of the toxin is purportedly sterilized and purified.

Some consider BOTOX a poison. They feel this way because it is injected in small doses under the skin. It is reported to work by deadening the underlying muscle, preventing any further movement and thus smoothening out the skin.

BOTOX is said to interfere between muscle and nerve interaction. Some feel small doses of this chemical effectively prevent the release of acetylcholine by the nerve cells.

This neuro-chemical transfers signals to muscles, determining their contraction and relaxation. When injected into selected muscles, BOTOX stops them from contracting.
Tip! Then a quick lick of mascara (brown) a touch of lip gloss and I'm off. I promise you that this quick beauty routine is all you need to have a beautiful look that will keep in all day and not look overmade up or take forever to apply.

Therefore, any present frown lines are ironed away. In fact, within a week they become almost invisible.

In the April of the year 2002, the FDA approved the use of BOTOX injections as a treatment for the reduction of frown lines. Since then, it has come to be regarded as the fastest growing anti-aging cure in the country.

Keep in mind that the FDA cautions against using Botox more than once in 3 months. Also it recommends that the lowest possible effective dose to be used in a session.

There are other, more permanent, options available - if you are inclined towards cosmetic surgery. Procedures like an eyelid tuck (blepharoplasty) and a bow lift (also called a forehead lift) last about 30 to 90 minutes.
Tip! Collect and bring pictures that are appropriate for your type of hair. The biggest beauty salon hair disasters occur when your hair stylist doesn't understand what you want.

They are outpatient operations, so you can leave for home the same day. Another option is the face lift (or rhytidectomy) - a slightly longer operation which can go on for 2 to 4 hours.

Patients are advised to stay overnight at the clinic. Although none of these procedures can reduce wrinkles, they very distinctly tighten up a sagging face by literally cutting away any extra bits of facial skin. The recovery period can last from 7 days to a month depending upon the extent of the operation.

However, at the end of it you may be rewarded with a much younger and firmer facial appearance.
Tip! I try to get a good nights sleep as this, in my opinion, is the best beauty treatment you can have. And it's free.

Given the risks associated with Botox facial treatments like Rejuvinol™ deserve a serious look. We have heard that Rejuvinol™ available from Amazon and www.BODeStore.com is a product that uses helps give a younger appearance by appearing to smoothing out wrinkles. It's makers say that it contains the universally recognized Argireline® from Lipotec S.A. The active ingredient in Argireline® is acetyl hexapeptide 3 (AH3), a deep penetrating, powerful amino peptide that helps to relax the intensity and frequency of facial muscle contractions. It just may be a less expensive and invasive way to put your best face forward.
Tip! Search the Internet for reviews of beauty salons in your work or home zip codes.

Health and Beauty Tips

Our society is one which is somewhat obsessed with appearances. Magazines, movies and television feature those with beautiful faces and bodies almost exclusively. Characters in a television shows or movies are often stereotypes rather than independent characters lending credence to the theory that beauty is more important than other aspects such as intelligence, personality and creativity. While this may not be true it is certainly the image which is promoted in the media. This focus on the beautiful people of the world has ignited a thriving beauty industry.

Nail salons are opening in large quantities all around the world. Although women make up the majority of the clientele in these establishments, men are also flocking to salons and spas for manicures and pedicures. Manicures and pedicures used to be considered luxury treatments reserved for special occasions such as weddings and other formal events but today many women visit salons weekly for nail care treatments.

Nails aren't the only part of the body get a great deal of attention lately. Gleaming white teeth have become an asset desired, and achieved through treatments, by many. Both over the counter whitening products and dentist performed procedures are becoming increasingly popular. These products and procedures help people to obtain a coveted bright smile. Salons and spas are also offering services and treatments to help individuals gain desired hairstyles. These treatments and services can help a person to achieve a completely different look. Those with short hair can have hair extensions, made with real hair, attached to create the illusion of longer hair. This can have the result of creating a dramatic effect. The extensions can be either very natural looking or completely outrageous. Hair straighteners are also popular options for those who want straight locks. Those with curly or wavy hair can have chemicals applied to remove the curl from their hair or may employ the use of products such as flat irons to achieve the desired effect.

Laser hair removal is another service offered by spas for the purpose of beautification. Laser hair removal can be somewhat painful as well as expensive and time consuming but many women still invest in these services. Laser hair removal is used to permanently remove hair through the use of lasers applied to the hair follicles.

These treatments are most effective in areas involving a small surface area such as the face, the underarms or the bikini line.

Some who are seeking physical perfection are taking even more drastic steps than those mentioned above in their pursuit of beauty. Laser vision correction is one such extreme measure those looking to improve their appearance are undergoing. Surgery to correct vision is often utilized by individuals who do not wish to wear glasses anymore. Although contact lenses are a viable

solution for correcting vision without surgery, many individuals are not satisfied with the use of contacts because there are still times when they are required to wear eye glasses. For these individuals corrective eye surgery is worth the risk in return for not having to wear eye glasses anymore.

The Inside Beauty

What is Beauty? When we heard of the word beauty we immediately sink into a mind set where the physical or external beauty only matters. But ask the question whether you are beautiful inside of you. Your inside beauty-that is a healthy and happy mind set- depends on your mind, your thought process or simply saying your core value. As we cannot see the inside beauty it is measured through your smile, happiness, satisfaction, involvement, excitement and positive attitude.

All these measures help you to have a vibrant inner beauty. How? First they help you to have a healthy mind, thereby inducing your inner beauty. If one feels that he is healthy and happy it reflects automatically in his/her personality. All medicines and treatment will not help to cure a disease or ailment if the mind develops a fear psychosis. Belief and happiness is the best treatment.

The light hearted people-taking everything lightly without getting tension and derives satisfaction and happiness in every thing they do-attract more people towards them. "Beauty Foods" Can Help Slow Down the Aging Process

Anti-aging has been a very hot topic over the last 15 years, and we've made great discoveries about how to turn back the clock with natural hormones and cosmetic procedures. But who would have guessed that the most powerful way of prolonging your youth and enhancing your health was with "Beauty Cuisine"?

Beauty Cuisine is food which not only nourishes but strengthens the body, slows and reverses the aging process (entropy), and rejuvenates our cells allowing for a beautiful body inside and out. Beauty food was a natural part of our evolutionary diet as Paleolithic humans, but has become rare with our quest for fast foods with a long shelf life. The foundation of true youth, health, and beauty lies within consuming the right foods daily. Ideally, we need to pick foods which are fresh, unrefined, nutrient dense, organic, pH balanced, as well as high in enzymatic value, antioxidants, and phytochemicals.

Here are seven important qualities found in "beauty foods": 1) A low glycemic index rating. Those with high ratings promote insulin secretion, a hormone which when in excess is known to age and destroy the body. For example, high fiber and low sugar foods are lower on the glycemic index and are more desirable.

2) Anti-inflammatory properties. Our most common ailments such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease, and bowel disease are caused by inflammation. Consuming spices such as ginger, tumeric, cayenne, and oregano, as well as foods including salmon, garlic, and blueberries, have powerful anti-inflammatory properties.

3) An alkaline or neutral pH. Fast foods and processed, refined foods are acidic and promote deterioration and aging. Yet, foods such as green vegetables, salads, sprouts, watercress, mustard greens, seaweed, sesame seeds, and berries are alkaline and rejuvenating.

4) High enzymatic content. Many illnesses occur as a result of lacking enzymes. They are critical in our food for digestion and assimilation of nutrients, yet they are sorely lacking in our packaged and microwave prepared foods. High enzyme foods are energizing and invigorating, allowing the body to heal and recover significantly faster from injury or aging skin cells and organs. Foods high in enzymes include fresh raw vegetables and berries, as well as raw cheeses, yogurt, and wild game.

5) High mineral content. Foods such as arugula, hemp seeds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, broccoli sprouts, raw honey, aloe vera, papaya, berries, and burdock root are rich in minerals including silicon, biotin, magnesium, sulfur, zinc, and manganese, all known for their importance for strong hair, skin, and nails.
Tip! Then a quick lick of mascara (brown) a touch of lip gloss and I'm off. I promise you that this quick beauty routine is all you need to have a beautiful look that will keep in all day and not look overmade up or take forever to apply.

6) High Syntropy value. Stress, toxins, unhealthy food, and lack of fresh air and sun increase the aging process. They create destruction and disorder or entropy in our bodies, and few things actually work in direct opposition. Syntropy is an order-enhancing energy force stored in food which actually neutralizes entropy and releases the beautifying power in food from the sun. Thus, eating "beauty" foods results in a more youthful energy, body, and mind.

7) Naturally colorful. The vibrant colors of natural foods indicate their wide spectrum of antioxidants, phytochemicals, and nutrients which protect, nourish, and heal the body from disease and aging. From the deep blue blueberries, to the red sockeye salmon, choose a variety of colors each day to optimize your intake of beautifying foods.

"Beauty Cuisine" similar to Paleolithic nutrition, is undeniably the most important new trend for healthy living. It will first stimulate your taste buds and then support your body to eliminate toxins, rejuvenate skin cells, strengthen organs, and increase overall vitality, health, and appearance. Humans evolved on these highly energetic restorative foods for the last two million years, and in order to continue thriving, we must make it a priority to keep consuming the right foods.

The Quest for Ageless Beauty

Age creeps up on us all. However we no longer have to allow it to ravage us, unchecked. Antiaging research and development have been releasing studies and new antiaging products almost daily - all to help us look and feel younger.

For those who want to stay the hand of time and remain youthful and active through and past middle age, there has been no more exciting time to be growing older.

Science has produced many new antiaging solutions. We now know that parts of the aging process can be slowed or delayed. There are steps one can take to support the body and keep healthy processes going.

We now understand the value of early and consistent sun protection, proper nutrition, vitamin supplements, and age-appropriate exercise. Thinning hair can be slowed and maybe even reversed with treatments such as minoxidil, propecia or copper peptide solutions.

Some signs of aging can be "erased". There are antiaging procedures such as face lifts, facial peels, dermabrasion and laser resurfacing techniques that quite literally erase facial wrinkles.

Hair replacement can erase a receding hairline by implanting healthy follicles where others have died an untimely death.

There are antiaging skincare products that camouflage signs of aging, at least temporarily. Cosmetics with special properties like light-reflecting particles, foundation shades that match skin tones and provide coverage without a mask like appearance, temporary "lifts" that tighten facial skin all allow us to look years younger one day at a time.

AHAs, BHAs, Retin A and retinol preparations provide longer lasting results by uncovering more youthful skin beneath the surface and speeding up the skin's natural rebuilding process. The latest antiaging firming creams for cellulite and slackening skin have performed well in standard industry tests, providing smoother tighter skin that lasts.

Most exciting of all are the new products that hold the promise of actually reversing some signs of aging. Newer antiaging cosmetic surgery techniques give more natural looking and lasting results. Botox, and perhaps the new serums that purport to mimic the muscle-freezing effect of Botox, prevent the formation or deepening of lines of expression.

There are new creams on the market that combine ancient herbal remedies with modern substances created in the laboratory and claim to actually rebuild collagen beneath the skin's surface removing wrinkles from the inside out! Amazingly, they actually seem to work.

And there are the controversal hormone theraphies, such as HGH and DHEA. They seem to be effective, but at what cost to our future health?

All this has come just in time for the boomer generation, the leading edge of which is now turning sixty. There has never been a bigger demand for effective products to help them stay young and vigorous.
Tip! Then a quick lick of mascara (brown) a touch of lip gloss and I'm off. I promise you that this quick beauty routine is all you need to have a beautiful look that will keep in all day and not look overmade up or take forever to apply.

Everyone knows this lovely phrase written by John Keats.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever: Its loveliness increases It will never pass into nothingness…

Endymion, 1818

If you desire to take joy in a more youthful and beautiful "you" and preserve your beauty, if not forever, at least as long as possible, you want to know about the most recent antiaging developments.

Just as importantly, you want to know which antiaging products are proven effective, look promising or are simply fads or marketing hype. You also want to know which product among competing ones offers the best value.

Anti Aging Beauty Supplies - Tips to Keep the Skin Looking Youthful

Are you beginning to notice wrinkles and crowsfeet? And there's more appearing every day? When skin loses its elasticity, fine lines begin to appear. It is a battle but it can be won with the use of antiaging beauty supplies. Treat yourself well to look and feel wonderful.

Aging is a Given A very important building block in the body is collagen, a fibrous protein that makes up 75% of our skin. Its part of what helps in our body's healing process. But when collagen hardens with age it collapses and binds with other fibres so that a mesh is formed below the surface. This gives us the wrinkles.

Solar Contact Causes Aging • long UV rays cause sun-damage contributing to early aging and possible cancer • can happen on cloudy or sunny days and in the shade • short UVB rays can cause burns that often need attention

External Factors Faced Daily • pollutants • harsh soaps • cleaning products made from chemicals • smoking

Learn About Antiaging Beauty Products Treatments and beauty supplies are being marketed to remedy the signs of aging - from Alpha-Hydroxy serums to wrinkle relaxers.
Tip! Search the Internet for reviews of beauty salons in your work or home zip codes.

What Skin Type are You? Normal skin? - how fortunate!. Generally the only thing required is cleaning twice a day with mild baby soap and water, mixed with rose water. Always apply a mild, oil-based moisturizer under makeup to help retain moisture. Once every two weeks, stimulate the circulation by using a nondrying mask.

Dry:

• has a low level of oil • prone to sensitivity • a parched look because of inability to retain moisture • usually feels "tight" after washing unless a lotion or cream is used a gentle cleansing and generous quantities of a moisturizing product should be applied • do not use just soap and water as this will wash away natural oils that protect

Oily:

• has coarse pores and pimples • shiny and thick • prone to blackheads

Keep clean using alcohol-free cleansers or lotions. There is a product on the market containing natural black mud and many salts and minerals from the shoreline - all blended with earth. It has cleansing and softening properties that will help relieve psoriasis, eczema, acne and wrinkles.

Combination:

• has oily t-zone area which includes forehead, nose, and chin • the cheeks are dry

It is important to find supplies that will help prevent breakouts and control oiliness in the problem areas while keeping the rest of the face well moisturized. Find products with Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) that will normalize using the concentrated pure glycolic acid which is found in fruit, milk and sugar cane. The application removes dead cells allowing the healthier ones to surface.
Tip! Keep a definite picture in your mind of exactly what you want to look like, and the graceful poise and radiant, magnetic beauty that you want to show the world. If you hold that picture strongly enough, your inner mind will help you to achieve it, and hold on to it, as quickly and effortlessly as possible.

Sensitive:

• thin finely textured • reacting immediately to both heat and cold • sun and windburns • commonly dry • delicate • prone to allergic reactions • irritation from temperature changes, some detergents and cosmetics, leaving it red and blotchy

Use a Cleanser that is fortified with antioxidants. The combination of vitamins A, C, and E and green and white tea is a perfect addition to any antiaging beauty routine. Wash your face with a mild soap, rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft towel.

Never use beauty supplies or perfume without first trying a little on the inside of your wrist to check the reaction.
Tip! Collect and bring pictures that are appropriate for your type of hair. The biggest beauty salon hair disasters occur when your hair stylist doesn't understand what you want.

Why pH is important

The human pH value is somewhere between 4.5 and 6. But as we age the skin becomes more neutral, weakens and has difficulty fighting off bacteria. The significance of choosing a good pH in beauty supplies becomes important especially if the pH goes beyond 6 when significant problems can occur.

Bottom Line - use Sunscreen

When going out into the sun, you need protection from both UVA and UVB rays. The regular sunblocker with an SPF of 15 or higher will deal with the UVB's but you need the added ingredients of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide or avobenzone for the UVA rays.

Tips and Treatments

Choose the right foundation product to set a path for serious antiaging skincare. Buy supplies with a fragrance to delight the senses and at the same time take charge of problem areas. Cover brown spots, scars and rashes with a beauty product. There are brand names that offer products to conceal blemishes and keep breakouts under cover.

When applying a foundation concealer, keep your hand light. Better to apply two light coats than one heavy layer. Do the sides of the nose and inside of the eyes that connects the jaw, the eyes and the hairline.
Tip! Then a quick lick of mascara (brown) a touch of lip gloss and I'm off. I promise you that this quick beauty routine is all you need to have a beautiful look that will keep in all day and not look overmade up or take forever to apply.

7 Beauty Tips For Acne Prone Skin

Acne. Boy do I hate it. Those pimples popping up all over my face back in my teenaged years. Even now, I do get acne outbreaks when I am stressed, or use the wrong skin care product. I've been to many doctors who are able to clear my acne, until the next outbreak.

Part of the reason is oily skin. Greasy skin that traps dirt and skin debris clogging up pores make your skin pores an excellent breeding place for bacteria. The bacteria multiplies and voila. You have acne.

All is not lost. If you have oily skin that is prone to acne, here are 7 beauty tips to help keep the pimples away.

1. Keep your HANDS off your face. You hands, after touching so many things, opening the door, picking up a bag, things we do everyday, are covered with bacteria. The last thing you want is to put that bacteria on your face. Touch your face often with your hands, or worse still, pick those pimples with your fingers, and you will see the pimples multiply.

2. Keep your HAIR off your face. If you have oily skin, you probably have oily hair. Oily hair brushing against your face adds to the oil. Oil, sweat and skin debris are a great way to clog the pores in your skin, leading to more pimples. If you notice pimples appearing on your forehead, or your cheeks and chin, typically where your hair might brush against, your hair could be the culprit. Wear a hairband, use hair clips to keep your hair off your face, tie it into a pony tail, or get a hair cut.
Tip! I try to get a good nights sleep as this, in my opinion, is the best beauty treatment you can have. And it's free.

3. Wash your face 3 times a day with a good acne cleanser. I got that tip from a doctor. I washed my face when I woke up, at lunch time and at bedtime with a cleanser that is meant for skin that has acne. My skin cleared when I stuck to the routine and used only skin care products meant for skin with acne. A bar of soap meant for washing your face does the trick just as well.

4. Stick to acne skin care Every time I stray from that point, I end up with a major acne outbreak. Always. Everytime I see my pals with exceptionally radiant skin, I want to use whatever they use. I would switch to richer, anti aging skin care as a preventive measure, worried about wrinkles appearing when I get older. That backfires every time. I end up with more pimples. Stick to good acne skin care products.
Tip! Collect and bring pictures that are appropriate for your type of hair. The biggest beauty salon hair disasters occur when your hair stylist doesn't understand what you want.

5. Relax Did you notice how pimples tend to appear more before a stressful event. Exams. A big date. A presentation. Stress wreaks havoc on your skin. Ok, pimples can also pop up due to hormonal imbalances, like just before your period.

6. Sleep Your skin heals itself when you sleep. Your entire body heals itself in your sleep. A night without sleep may lead to more pimples. Make it a habit to leave your worries behind and get a good night's sleep. Work out more earlier in the day. Get some exercise before evening. It helps.

7. Stay away from pressed powder compact. Yup. You heard me right. I got this tip from a friend. Her friend used a pressed powder compact to hide her acne. Instead, the more she used it the worse it got. Just think. By mid day, your skin gets oily. You take out the powder compact, and use that powder puff to apply pressed powder on your face. Now, your face would already have dirt, bacteria and oil on it. Pat your face with that powder puff and now that puff picks up the dirt, bacteria and oil. You put it back into the compact. The bacteria happily breeds in there. Then you take out the compact again and pat more powder, mixed with oil, dirt and bacteria onto your face, picking up more gunk, putting in more gunk into your compact. The cycle goes on. A better bet would be to use blotting paper to blot off the excess oil instead. Then you can throw the paper away after use. Use the blotting paper meant for your face like the ones found at http://www.everythingbeauty.info/blotting%20paper.htm
Tip! Keep a definite picture in your mind of exactly what you want to look like, and the graceful poise and radiant, magnetic beauty that you want to show the world. If you hold that picture strongly enough, your inner mind will help you to achieve it, and hold on to it, as quickly and effortlessly as possible.

About this powder puff thing, make it a point to wash your powder puff and all your make up brushes regularly, with soap and water. Then dry them completely before you keep them. Guess that would make it an 8th tip right?

Oily, acne prone skin needs a lot of care. The bright side is that oily skin is slower to show signs of aging than dry skin. Take care of your skin and you'll probably look younger than your peers as the decades go by.

The Beauty of a Punch in the Face

If you have acne scars there are numerous acne scar removal procedures that can help you get your nice smooth-appearing skin back again. There is a process called dermal injection which is done by a series of injections into acne scars to raise the surface of the skin and give it a smoother look. Such fillers as fat, human collagen, bovine collagen, hyaluronic acid derivatives, and polytheyl-methacrylate microspheres with collagen are all used. When you have a dermal injection done with these materials, they do not permanently correct acne scars, so you may have to have several injections to be successful.

Another method, which is surgically done, is called punch excision which surgically corrects acne scars. It specifically focuses on ice-pick scars and deep, boxcar scars. A biopsy is taken with a punch biopsy tool, which is a round, sharp, cookie-cutter device that comes in diameters ranging from 1.5 mm to 3.5 mm. The size of your acne scars determines the size of the tool which is matched to the scar and includes the walls of the scar. You will have to have a local anesthetic applied when the scar is excised with the punch tool. The scar edges are sutured together, and though this procedure will produce a new scar, it eventually fades and may not be noticeable. If for some reason it continues to remain noticeable, the surface of the skin is now more amenable to further resurfacing techniques.

There is another technique called punch excision with skin graft replacement, where the scar is excised with the punch tool. However, instead of suturing the edges together, the defect is filled with a punch skin graft that is usually taken from behind the patient's ear. You may find that there will be a color and texture difference that is noticeable with this type of procedure. And as a rule after four to six weeks, a skin resurfacing technique can be applied to correct this difference in texture. With treatment, acne scars can be effectively brought under control.
